Refractometers Alcohol and alcohol / sugar solutions
Refractometers are used for the identification of substances and concentration measurement of fluids. Because the refractive index (R.I.) of a solution is proportional to the concentration it is easy to identify the substance or to measure the purity and concentrations of solutions
The Euromex refractometers are calibrated at 20° Celsius. Most refractometers are equipped with Automatic Temperature Compensation (ATC). Euromex offers analog and digital hand refractometers, tabletop abbe refractometers and gemological refractometers

HANDHELD REFRACTOMETERS
A refractometer is a laboratory or field instrument that measure an index of refraction (refractometry). The traditional handheld refractometer is an analog instrument for measuring refractive index of a liquid. It works on the critical angle principle by which lenses and prisms project a shadow line onto a small glass reticle inside the instrument, which is then viewed by the user through a magnifying eyepiece
SUGAR CONCENTRATION
Refractometer are use for a wide variety of analyses like measuring the sugar concentration (Brix) in products like honey, fruit juices and energy drinks. Brix indicates the weight content of sugar in a 100 grams sugar cane solution
The food industry intensively uses refractometers to determine the exact Brix concentration in marmalades, fruit, fruit juices, honey, treacle, wine and other food products. In the chemistry and oil industry refractometers are used to measure anti-frost solutions, battery acid, water-oil emulsions
Only a few drops of the liquid are necessary to read the refractive index straight from the built-in scale. All refractometers are equipped with an ATC (exept RF.6190) and are supplied with specific scales
